Cheqkr is a brand operated by Purnyug Technologies Private Limited ("Purnyug Technologies", "we", "us", "our"). These Conditions set out the specific rules for participating in the Cheqkr Referral Programme, and apply alongside the Referral Programme Terms. Please read both before enrolling.
A referral code can only be entered once per account — when a restaurant submits its application, or when a customer completes their profile after their first sign-in. It cannot be added, changed, or removed afterwards, by you or by us, except to correct a genuine Cheqkr system error.
The first valid referral code entered for a given restaurant or customer account is the only one that counts. This is enforced automatically and permanently — it is not possible for a second code to later "take over" a referral, even if a different code is entered elsewhere, and it is not something Cheqkr will manually reassign after the fact.
You cannot use your own referral code for your own account. Any attempt to do so is automatically rejected and never credited.
The following will disqualify a referral from earning a reward, and may result in forfeiture of the reward (if not yet credited) and suspension from the Programme:
Cheqkr checks eligibility conditions (such as the 40-day/good-standing requirement for a referred restaurant, or a referred customer's first order) before a reward is credited — not after. A reward that has already been credited is final per §5 of the Terms, except where it is later found to involve the conduct described in this section, in which case Cheqkr may reverse the reward and/or remove you from the Programme.
You must keep your Cheqkr account in good standing to continue participating. If your account is suspended or removed, your referral code stops accruing new rewards, though any rewards already credited to you are unaffected.
Referral rewards are entirely separate from, and do not affect, menu pricing, delivery fees, taxes, or any other charges on Cheqkr. Referring someone does not entitle you or them to a discount unless separately and explicitly offered.
Referral rewards you earn are taxable income in your hands under Indian income tax law, regardless of whether tax is withheld at source. This applies uniformly across India — it does not depend on which state or city you or Purnyug Technologies are located in; Indian income tax law is a central (national) law with no state-level variation.
Tax deducted at source (TDS). Under Section 194R of the Income Tax Act, 1961, Purnyug Technologies may be required to deduct TDS at 10% once your cumulative referral earnings from Cheqkr exceed ₹20,000 in a financial year (1 April to 31 March). Once that threshold is reached, a valid PAN is required to request a payout — without one, the deduction would instead be 20%, so we require it upfront rather than deduct at the higher rate.
This threshold applies separately to each financial year — earnings are not carried over across years for this purpose. If your cumulative earnings in a financial year stay at or below ₹20,000, no TDS is deducted, but the income remains fully taxable and must still be declared by you.
Your responsibility. Any TDS withheld is credited against your own tax liability and reflected in your Form 26AS / Annual Information Statement — it does not replace your obligation to report this income in your income tax return, or to pay any further tax due on it. This section is general information, not tax advice; please consult your own tax advisor for guidance specific to your situation.
If any part of these Conditions is found unenforceable, the rest remain in effect. These Conditions, together with the Referral Programme Terms, are the entire agreement between you and Cheqkr regarding the Programme.
