Cheqkr Payments Information

Effective date: 13 October 2026 · Version 1.1

Part of the Cheqkr Customer Terms of Purnyug Technologies Private Limited (Cheqkr is its brand). This page explains how payments work on the Cheqkr customer app.

1. Payment methods

Depending on what the Business offers, you can pay:

  • Online — cards, UPI, netbanking and other methods offered at checkout by our payment partner;
  • Cash on delivery (for delivery orders, where the Business accepts cash); or
  • Cash at pickup (for takeaway orders).

2. What makes up your bill

Your bill is composed of amounts set by the Business: item prices (including variations, add-ons and deal prices), the Business's taxes and charges (such as GST as configured by the Business, delivery charge, packaging or service charges), any Business discounts, and rounding where the Business has enabled it. The full breakdown is shown to you before you place the order.

  • Prices are computed by Cheqkr's servers from the Business's live catalogue — the app never calculates your bill on its own. If a price changes between loading the menu and placing the order, you will be shown the updated total and asked to confirm again before any order is created or payment taken.
  • Some Businesses set a minimum order value for delivery; the app will tell you if your cart is below it.
  • Cheqkr currently charges you no platform fee on your order — your bill is made up of the Business's own amounts only. (The only Cheqkr fee today is the platform-fee component of the non-refundable payment-processing charge that applies if an online payment is refunded — see the Cancellations & Refunds Policy, Section 4.) If order platform fees are introduced in future, they will be shown clearly in your bill before you order.

3. Who processes your payment

Online payments are processed by a third-party RBI-regulated payment aggregator (currently Razorpay). Your card, UPI and banking details are entered in and handled by the payment partner's secure checkout — they never pass through or get stored on Cheqkr's systems. Cheqkr receives only payment confirmation references needed to match the payment to your order and to process refunds.

Payment processing, chargebacks and settlement timelines are governed by the payment partner's terms and policies, available on its website.

4. How an online payment becomes an order

For your protection, a successful payment screen alone is never treated as a confirmed order. The Platform verifies every online payment server-side (including cryptographic signature verification with the payment partner) before the order is confirmed to the Business. If verification cannot complete immediately you may briefly see "Confirming your payment…"; the order confirms automatically once verification completes.

If a payment is taken but a valid order is not created, Cheqkr's automatic refund mechanism applies — see the Cancellations & Refunds Policy, Section 5.

5. Protection against double payment

The Platform uses idempotent order placement and duplicate-payment detection, so retrying a failed submission or reopening the app does not create a second order or charge you twice for the same checkout. If the Platform believes a payment for the same order is already in progress, it will block a second attempt and tell you.

6. Refunds

All refund rules — who decides them, the non-refundable 3.5% payment-processing charge (the payment gateway's charges as per our payment partner's policies plus Cheqkr's platform fee, each inclusive of 18% GST), processing to your original payment method, and timelines — are in the Cancellations & Refunds Policy.
