Cheqkr Privacy Notice (Customer App)

Effective date: 9 October 2026 · Version 1.0

This Privacy Notice explains how Purnyug Technologies Private Limited (CIN: U62013DL2025PTC446031, registered office: JG2/736 B, Vikaspuri, New Delhi) — the company behind the Cheqkr brand ("we", "us") — collects, uses, shares and protects your personal data when you use the Cheqkr customer mobile app. It is published in accordance with the Information Technology Act, 2000 and rules thereunder and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 ("DPDP Act").

In short: we collect only what the service needs — your phone number, name, optional email, your delivery addresses and a one-time device location to show nearby Businesses, and your orders and payments. We share order details with the Business you order from (and its delivery personnel, for delivery). Payments are handled by our payment partner; we never see your card or UPI credentials. We run no advertising, no third-party analytics and no marketing messages. You can ask for your account and data to be deleted from the app.

2. Legal basis

We process your personal data on the basis of your consent, given when you create your account and accept the Customer Terms and this Notice, and as necessary to provide the service you request (your orders, payments and refunds). Security, fraud-prevention and legal-compliance processing is carried out as permitted under applicable law. You may withdraw consent by deleting your account (Section 7); some records must still be retained as described there.

3. Who we share your data with

  • The Business you order from. Your name, phone number, delivery address (for delivery orders), order items, instructions and payment status — so it can prepare, fulfil and account for your order. Businesses also see aggregate information about their own customers' ordering with them (for example, your order count and totals with that Business) to serve their customers better. Businesses are independent entities responsible for their own use of this information.
  • The Business's delivery personnel. For an active delivery: your name, phone number and delivery address. In return, during an active delivery the app shows you the assigned delivery person's name and live location — this is shared with you at the direction and with the consent of the Business that engages them.
  • Our payment partner (an RBI-regulated payment aggregator), to process online payments and refunds. Its privacy policy and terms are available on its website.
  • Our infrastructure providers — Google Firebase / Google Cloud (authentication, database, hosting; servers in the Mumbai region) and Google Maps (map display in the app).
  • Authorities and legal process, where required by law, and professional advisers under confidentiality.
  • Group or successor entities in case of restructuring or business transfer, with notice to you.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it with anyone for third-party advertising.

4. Marketing

We currently send no promotional communications — no marketing SMS, email, WhatsApp or push notifications. Communications you see are transactional (order and refund status shown in the app). If we introduce promotional messages in future, they will require your separate opt-in and carry an opt-out.

5. Location permission

The app asks for location permission to show Businesses near you; this is requested when you start using the app. We use foreground, one-time position readings only. You can manage the permission in your device settings; without it, nearby discovery cannot work. We never request background location.

6. Data retention

  • Account data (profile, addresses): kept while your account is active, then handled per Section 7.
  • Orders, payments and refunds: retained as transaction records for as long as required for accounting, tax and legal compliance, dispute resolution and fraud prevention — including after account deletion, in which case they are retained only as required and no longer linked to an active account.
  • Referral payout records (including PAN): retained as required by tax law.
  • Technical logs: kept for limited periods for security and diagnostics.

7. Deleting your account and data

You can request deletion from the FAQ section of the app ("Delete Account and Data"), or by writing to our Grievance Officer (Section 10). When you do:

  • your account is deactivated within 5–7 working days, and
  • your account and personal data are deleted within 30 working days,

except data we must retain under law (such as tax, accounting and payment/refund records, and records needed for pending disputes or fraud prevention), which is kept only as long as the law requires and then deleted. "Working days" are Monday to Saturday, excluding public holidays and other government-announced holidays. Deletion is permanent; your order history, saved addresses and referral profile cannot be recovered. See also: Delete Your Account & Data.

8. Your rights

Under the DPDP Act you have the right to: access a summary of your personal data and processing; correct and update your data (your name, email and addresses are editable in the app); erase your data (Section 7); grievance redressal (Section 10); and nominate a person to exercise your rights in case of death or incapacity. To exercise any right, use the app controls or contact the Grievance Officer. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India.

9. Security

We use reasonable security practices appropriate to the data we handle: encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest on our cloud infrastructure, access controls and server-side rules restricting your data to your own account, verified-device attestation, masked logging, and payment flows designed so that card/UPI credentials never touch our systems. No system is perfectly secure; if we learn of a breach affecting you, we will notify you and the authorities as required by law.
